Publishing giant turns to PMI Health Group for employee healthcare cover

Express Newspapers has turned to PMI Health Group to broker its medical insurance scheme in a deal that has lowered premiums for the publishing giant.

The UK’s largest independently-owned specialist provider of employee healthcare has achieved a 10 per cent premium reduction on renewal for the group, whose published titles include the Daily and Sunday Express, the Daily Star and Daily Star on Sunday. Some 600 employees are covered by the scheme.

“Our employee health cover is at the heart of our rewards and benefits programme,” said Julie Fullilove, Group Human Resources Director. “We are delighted with the provision and value PMI Health Group has delivered us.”

Richard Munro, PMI Health Group’s Managing Director, added: “Controlling medical insurance costs can be a considerable challenge for businesses in the current climate.

“Our accomplishment for this venerated stalwart of the UK newspaper industry however demonstrates what can be achieved by specialist health risk consultancy.”

PMI Health Group has also brokered the medical insurance for West Ferry Printers, a subsidiary of Express Newspapers, achieving a 10 per cent premium reduction on cover for a further 60 employees. The two schemes have been harmonised to simplify administration and offer the same benefits and provider across all business sectors.  .
