Corporate social responsibility

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is at the very heart of Willis Towers Watson Health & Benefits – integral to its culture and business ethics.

The company has a long history of supporting the community and charitable causes, both nationally and internationally.

In the last financial year, the group made donations of £42,000 to various registered UK charities. These have included the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme, which the group has supported for more than a decade and of which it is a charter member; the Red Cross and Barnardo’s.

During 2010, Willis Towers Watson employees collectively swam more than 200,000 metres for the ‘World Swim Against Malaria’ appeal. Money raised from their efforts will provide more than 300 children at risk from the disease with life-saving mosquito bednets.

Support for North West causes has included donations to Francis House Children’s Hospice, St Luke’s Cheshire Hospice and Hebden Green Community School. The group also supports youth and sports clubs in the local area, including Chester Rugby Club.

Moreover, nurses from Willis Towers Watson's Managed Care team regularly go that extra mile in the course of their duties, visiting local patients in their homes, or in hospital for example – especially those suffering long standing medical problems or undergoing serious or intensive treatment such as chemotherapy. They have even attended funerals to offer their support to grieving relatives.
